So that you can define, enquire and request samples of your desired quartz with just a few clicks, you will find the SMD oscillating quartz configurator here.
The quartz configurator gives you an overview of the most common SMD quartz versions that are available at low cost.
Once you have defined your desired product, you can click on REQUEST in the SAMPLE column and then enter your desired parameters in the template in the quartz configurator that opens and send them directly to us. If you would like to request your desired SMD quartz crystal directly from us, you can click on REQUEST in the PRODUCT column and enter your required crystal parameters in the corresponding template and send them directly to us with your desired quantity.
If you would like an alternative offer to a competitor product already in use, you can send us the order designation of the competitor product directly using the CROSS REFERENCE function: Link: Cross-References. We will convert the competitor's product to our alternative product and offer you the requested quantity.
You can find more information on this in our TOP SELLER section or under the heading SEARCH FOR REFERENCE DESIGN (IC) FOR SMD QUARCIES.
We recommend the following SMD crystals for new developments:
Frequency range 6 - 8 MHz = SMD0507/4 - 7.0x5.0mm/4pad SMD crystal in ceramic housing
Frequency range 8 - 12 MHz = SMD0503/4 - 5.0x3.2mm/4pad SMD crystal in ceramic housing
Frequency range > 12 MHz = SMD03025/4 - 3.2x2.5mm/4pad SMD crystal in ceramic housing
Frequency range > 16 MHz = SMD02016/4*- 2.0x1.6mm/4pad SMD crystal in ceramic housing
Frequency range > 24 MHz = SMD01612/4*- 1.6x1.2mm/4pad SMD crystal in ceramic housing
*SMD crystals in 2.0x1.6mm/4pad housing or 1.6x1.2mm/4pad housing are mainly used on miniaturised boards (e.g. mini sub-boards, or mini boards for radio applications, etc.). If you do not necessarily need a miniaturised SMD crystal in one of these two small ceramic housings, you should simply use the cheapest SMD crystal from the SMD03025/4 series.
Please note that we only recommend SMD crystals that can be sourced from us over a very long period of time, more than 10 years, with consistently excellent performance and quality.

The 32.768 kHz clock crystal in a 3.2x1.5mm/2pad ceramic housing is our most affordable 32.768 kHz MINI crystal ever!
The 3.2x1.5mm/2pad SMD crystals of the M3215RR series feature our highly innovative LRT crystal resonators (LOW ESR Resonator Design) with a maximum resistance of 50 kOhm. Each of our products is 100% tested, so we can offer outstanding product quality, maximum lifetime and a very reliable partnership with competent support. Based on our own mold, we can also supply the SMD clock crystals of the M3215RR series at very competitive prices.
We therefore do not necessarily recommend our customers to use 32,768 kHz crystals in smaller housings with the dimensions 2.0x1.2mm or 1.6x1.2mm. This is because these smaller 32.768kHz crystals have a significantly higher resistance (90kOhm), which can lead to massive oscillation problems in many 32.768kHz oscillator stages. In addition, these small clock crystals are significantly more expensive than the 3.2x1.5mm/2pad 50 kOhm LOW ESR crystal of the M3215RR series.
Even if the requirement for miniaturization of the circuit boards is often very high, it is extremely worthwhile to stay with the 32.768kHz crystal in the 3.2x1.5mm/2pad ceramic housing. Also in automotive applications, for which there are also corresponding M3215RR solutions.
M3215RR 32.768 kHz crystals are available with load capacities of 4, 6, 7, 9 or 12.5 pF. Normally from stock.

We are repeatedly asked the following question:
"What is the easiest SMD 32.768 kHz crystal to replace a THT TC38 (3x8mm) or THT TC26 (2x6mm) 32.768 kHz crystal with?"
Quite simply, with our cheapest 32.768 kHz crystal from the M3215RR series in a 3.2x1.5mm/2pad ceramic housing.
Why?
THT crystals have lower resistances than MINI-SMD-32.768kHz crystals due to their large tuning fork resonators. Normally 50 kOhm max.
So if the same IC is to be operated with an SMD 32.768 kHz crystal instead of the THT clock crystal, then the maximum resistance of the SMD crystal must not exceed 50 kOhm, otherwise massive oscillation problems may occur. This means that 32,768 kHz crystals in even smaller housings with the dimensions 2.0x1.2mm or 1.6x1.2mm can be ruled out, as these have a significantly higher resistance of 90kOhm.
The 3.2x1.5mm/2pad SMD crystals of the M3215RR series feature our highly innovative LRT (LOW ESR Resonator Design) quartz resonators with a maximum resistance of 50 kOhm. Each of our products is 100% tested, so we can offer outstanding product quality, maximum lifetime and a very reliable partnership with competent support. Based on our own mold, we can also supply the SMD clock crystals of the M3215RR series at very competitive prices.
If you compare the price of the M3215RR to the price of a THT-32.768kHz crystal, then the M3215RR is by far the cheaper solution.
THT-32.768kHz crystals also have glass feedthroughs surrounding the contact terminals, which must be taken care of when handling THT-32.768kHz crystals to avoid damage and failure. The M3215RR, on the other hand, is a perfectly processable SMD component.
We therefore recommend the LOW ESR 50 kOhm max. 32.768kHz SMD crystals in the 3.2x1.5mm/2pad of the M3215RR series to our customers.
M3215RR 32.768 kHz crystals are available with load capacities of 4, 6, 7, 9 or 12.5 pF. Normally from stock.
