PETERMANN-TECHNIK offers the broadest portfolio of 32.768 kHz solutions – quartz crystals, quartz crystal and silicon oscillators as well as RTCs – which are recommended for all applications requiring a low cost high performance product with outstanding quality.
The 32.768 kHz quartz crystals are deliverable with frequency tolerances at 25°C from ±10 to ±20ppm within the standard temperature range of -40/+85°C. Automotive solutions according to AECQ200 or AECQ100 are available on request.
The 32.768 kHz MICRO-SMD-Silicon-Oscillators are recommended for the use in battery driven solutions such as Bluetooth Low Energy, IoT, Wearables, RTCs, Mobile Communication, Smart Metering, Smart Housing, Commercial, Medical and Industrial applications, etc. The 2.0x1.2mm housing allows direct replacing quartz crystals of the 2012 series using the same pad layout dimensions.
Offering the unique ultra low power consumption of <1.0µA, the SMD silicon 32.768 kHz oscillators persuade with very tight frequency tolerances from ± 5ppm overall to ±10ppm initial and outperforms the temperature stabilities of quartz crystals and quartz crystal oscillators with 32.768 kHz, performing high precision 32.768 kHz clocking for ultra low power consumption and low-cost pricing.
Standard housing dimensions are 1.5x0.8mm or 2.0x1.2mm depending the model. Unlike quartz crystals the ULPO and ULPPO series enables with an LVCMOS compatible output signal the clocking of several ICs (MCU, RTC, BLE, etc.) the same time, increasing the greater component placement flexibility and eliminates external load capacitors, thus saving additional component count, board space and costs (PCB, assembly, handling, inventory, etc.). The use of ULPO or ULPPO in BLE solutions for example saves around 60% of system energy compared to the use with a 32.768 kHz quartz crystal.
