Due to their low resonance resistance and narrow frequency tolerances, the top-selling SMD crystals from PETERMANN-TECHNIK are specially designed for radio applications. The very low resistances guarantee extremely fast, reliable and reproducible transient behaviour from batch to batch. For many years, our cost-effective oscillating crystals have successfully proven themselves in a wide range of radio applications such as LoRa, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Bluetooth Smart, Zigbee, Sub-GHz, Sigfox, KNX, DECT, WLAN and LPWAN and have impressed our customers with the highest reliability even in demanding projects.
These oscillating crystals, which are well established on the market, are available in the usual frequencies for radio applications, such as 12.0, 19.2 MHz, 24.0 MHz, 25.0 MHz, 26.0 MHz, 30.0 MHz, 32.0 MHz, 36 MHz, 38.4 MHz, 40.0 MHz, 48.0 MHz, 50.0 MHz or 52.0 MHz. Customised frequencies are also possible. The Ultra Low Resistance SMD radio crystals can be supplied with frequency tolerances at +25°C of <±10ppm, or in the temperature ranges of -20/+70°C (±10ppm); -40/+85°C (±15ppm); -40/+105°C (±30ppm) and -40/+125°C (±50ppm). Versions with a drive level of up to 400 µW (2.0x1.6mm/4pad) or 500 µW (3.2x2.5mm/4pad) are available on customer request.
The 3.2 x 2.5 mm (4pad) form factor is currently widely used in all types of applications (including automotive). In applications where this crystal is too large, the high-volume product in the 2.0 x 1.6 mm housing (4pad) is used. This type of housing is very popular for very small radio applications. The crystal designs in this form factor are also resistance-optimised and designed for optimum transient response.
