Drop-in replacements save costs

PETERMANN-TECHNIK's silicon oscillators are one hundred per cent direct drop-in replacements of quartz and MEMS oscillators, which can be assembled on the same layouts. The user saves costs and makes his application significantly more fail-safe thanks to the thirty-fold increase in longevity, shock and vibration resistance. Automotive oscillators in accordance with AEC-Q100 are of course also available. Thanks to the express service, PETERMANN-TECHNIK can not only serve its customers immediately, but also further expand its position as a specialised partner for frequency-determining components and offer its customers an extremely short time-to-market and a reduction in development, qualification, component, procurement and infrastructure costs.

 

Circuit trick shortens development time

With all low-power spread spectrum oscillators from the silicon oscillator product range, the spread can be switched off at pin 1. If you do not yet know during the design whether a spread is required, you can use the spread selection pin to choose between a predefined spread and the spread-off function with the output signals LVCMOS, LVTTL, LVPECL, HCSL, LVDS and CML. This function shortens development times and can save component qualification and procurement costs, as can be seen from the example of differential and differential spread spectrum oscillators. If a differential PECL 125 MHz oscillator is purchased as a differential spread spectrum version, for example, the spread can be switched off via pin 1 in applications in which no spread is required. This means that only one component is required to fulfil a wide range of requirements.

The product range of Silicon Oscillators also includes VCXOs and VCTCXOs up to 800 MHz as well as very favourable stratum 3 oscillators. Depending on the component, the "Silicon Oscillators" product range covers the frequency range from 1 Hz to 800 MHz and the temperature range from -55 to +125 °C.

 

Comprehensive range of quartz oscillators

In addition to the silicon oscillator product range, PETERMANN-TECHNIK also offers crystal oscillators such as clock oscillators(SPXO) and low-power oscillators(LPXO), temperature-compensated(TCXO) and voltage-controlled(VCXO) crystal oscillators, VCTCXOs, differential, Stratum3 and spread-spectrum crystal oscillators through to OCXOs. Depending on the version, miniaturised solutions are available from 1.6 mm x 1.2 mm with supply voltages from 1.8 VDC in the temperature range from -55 to +125 °C. New in the programme: Silicon Oscillators

Under the name Silicon Oscillators, PETERMANN-TECHNIK offers silicon oscillators which, compared to conventional quartz oscillators, have significantly better technical data and are available in SMD packages at favourable prices. In addition, they can directly replace quartz and MEMS oscillators without redesigning the circuit board and enable innovative battery-powered applications thanks to their low power consumption.

The silicon oscillator series includes ultra-low-power oscillators (ULPO), ultra-low-power performance low-power high-precision oscillators (ULPPO), high-temperature low-power oscillators (HTLPO), differential XOs (DLPO), VCXOs and VCTCXOs up to 800 MHz, stratum-3 oscillators and spread-spectrum oscillators.
