INEXPENSIVE SMD OSCILLATING QUARTZ SUITABLE FOR ULTRASOUND
Every development and production specialist knows this! Quartz crystals must not be processed using ultrasound - neither soldering nor cleaning! The quartz resonators are damaged by the high-frequency soldering or cleaning process.
PETERMANN-TECHNIK from Landsberg am Lech is the first company in the world to present an SMD quartz crystal in a miniaturised ceramic housing measuring 3.2×2.5mm, which has been specially developed for use in applications whose housings are sealed by ultrasound. A sensation!
In the meantime, the SMD crystal in a 3.2x2.5mm/4pad housing (SMD03025/4 series) has become the most cost-effective miniaturised SMD crystal in a ceramic housing. For this reason, it is only logical that the crystal suitable for ultrasonic processing is available in the most popular 3.2x2.5mm/4pad housing.
The "SMD03025/4US" series of SMD crystalssuitable for ultrasonic processing can be soldered and cleaned by ultrasound. This crystal, whose crystal resonator in the housing has a special ultrasonic-resistant mounting, is designed for ultrasonic frequencies of 15 kHz, 20 kHz, 35 kHz and 40 kHz.
The "SMD03025/4US", which is available in the frequency range from 12 - 40 MHz, can be supplied with frequency tolerances from ±10ppm at +25°C and with temperature stabilities from ±10ppm over the temperature range of -20/+70°C. Over the industrial temperature range of -40/+85°C, the tightest temperature stability is ±15ppm.
Due to the very favourable price, the ultrasonic-resistant all-rounder manufactured in clean rooms can be used in all applications that require a very low-cost SMD crystal with excellent parameters and outstanding longevity, such as in the automotive, medical, embedded, industrial, commercial, IoT, WIFI, radio (WLAN, ISM, KNX, ZigBee, Z-Wave, etc.), consumer, telecom, etc., sector.
Of course, the PETERMANN-TECHNIK product range also includes 32,768 kHz solutions (crystals and ultra low power oscillators).
In addition to the very extensive product range, the specialists at PETERMANN-TECHNIK offer sound product advice. If required, very extensive circuit analyses/circuit simulations can also be carried out by our own in-house engineering department. The analyses are carried out in accordance with the DIN/IEC60444 standards for oscillating crystals and include oscillation safety tests (determination of the exact oscillation reserve), determination of the crystal current and many other tests.
The very comprehensive final report provides information about the circuit and, if necessary, contains suggestions for adjustments or confirms the correct dimensioning of the circuit to be tested. Series support is carried out in coordination with the customer's engineering, purchasing, production and QA departments. The aim is to provide the customer with a very fast time-to-market thanks to a very comprehensive range of services.
