The NANO-SMD crystal oscillator series SMD01210/4 combines uncompromising miniaturisation with a very wide frequency range, high drive level and the tried-and-tested LRT technology – ensuring reliable operation in wearables, ISM applications, IoT and IIoT, sensors, medical and industrial applications, as well as in all end products requiring crystal oscillators with very high shock and vibration resistance.
Landsberg am Lech, 10 August 2026 – PETERMAN N-TECHNIK GmbH is expanding its quartz portfolio with a real highlight: the new SMD resonator from the SMD01210/4 series, housed in an ultra-compact 1.2 × 1.0 mm ceramic package with 4 solder pads. The NANO SMD quartz crystal combines an extremely small form factor with an exceptionally wide frequency range of 24 to 285 MHz, thereby setting new standards for space-critical, high-performance designs.
At the heart of the new crystal is the LRT technology (Low ESR Resonator Technology). The low-resistance resonator design ensures rapid and highly reliable oscillation – even where other crystals reach their limits. Combined with a very high drive level of 200 µW max., the SMD01210/4 offers significant headroom for demanding oscillator circuits and maximum operational reliability throughout its entire service life.
Precision that impresses
Despite its minimal dimensions, the SMD01210/4 delivers outstanding frequency performance. The frequency tolerance at +25 °C is ±10 ppm. Frequency stability is ±10 ppm across the temperature range of –20/+70 °C and ±15 ppm or ±20 ppm in the extended industrial range of –40/+85 °C. Ageing is just ±10 ppm after 10 years – a figure that speaks in favour of permanently stable systems, particularly in wireless applications.
The series is currently available in five temperature ranges: –10/+60 °C, 0/+70 °C, –20/+70 °C, –30/+85 °C and –40/+85 °C – ranging from consumer use to robust industrial applications.

The difference in detail
Compared with similar products on the market, the SMD01210/4 stands out clearly in three respects: its proprietary LRT technology for reliable oscillation thanks to the low-resistance resonator design, the very high drive level of 200 µW max. and the exceptionally wide frequency range from 24 to 285 MHz – all housed in a compact 4-pad ceramic package measuring just 1.2 × 1.0 mm.
This makes the new crystal ideal for wearables, fitness trackers, smart rings and chest straps, pulse oximeters, glucose sensors, hearing aids, IoT, IIoT and smart home devices, wireless applications such as WLAN, Wi-Fi, Zigbee and ISM, GPS modules, consumer electronics, telecoms, as well as industrial and medical systems of all kinds. Or, in other words, all applications requiring quartz crystals that are highly resistant to shock and vibration.
“With the SMD01210/4, we are demonstrating that the smallest package size, an extreme frequency range and the highest operational reliability are not mutually exclusive. Based on our exclusive LRT technology and the high drive level, this provides developers with precisely the headroom that modern high-frequency designs require – whilst offering excellent value for money.”
